Swedish authorities have published scenarios for the development of the coronavirus pandemic

The Swedish Civil Emergency Agency has developed three possible scenarios for the development of a pandemic of coronavirus infection. According to one of them, an explosive outbreak of the spread of coronavirus and its mutation are not ruled out at all. This was announced on July 3 by the Sveriges Radio news service. Currently, the epidemiological situation in Sweden is improving, the number of deaths of the disease COVID-19 and the number of hospitalizations of seriously ill patients is declining. However, according to the latest report, prepared by experts from the Swedish Civil Emergency Agency, together with specialists from the Swedish Institute for Defense Research, with the support of the State Directorate for Social Protection of the Population, the Public Health Agency and Riksbank, pandemic development patterns can change greatly by autumn. Magnus Weinhav, head of one of the divisions of the Swedish Civil Emergency Agency, warns that the scenarios described are just a series of possible events, and not full-fledged forecasts. At worst, the spread of coronavirus in society can become explosive. We see significant fluctuations regarding both the spread of infection and the economic consequences, as well as the access of the population to some critical goods, Weinhav said. More moderate scenarios of pandemic development suggest that the decline in the spread of coronavirus infection in the population will have the same dynamics as today, or at least the pace that can be influenced by authorities through the introduction of quarantine restrictions.
