Russia and Uzbekistan plan to conclude an agreement on labor migrants


Representatives of the government of Uzbekistan and Russia plan to sign an agreement on the organization of migrant labor activities, the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the republic said on August 20. This issue was discussed on August 19 at a meeting between Uzbek Minister Sardor Umurzakov and Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk. The parties discussed the creation of conditions for Uzbek labor migrants working in Russia, including transparent mechanisms for organizing labor activities. The interlocutors discussed the possibility of accelerated signing of an intergovernmental agreement in this area. According to the news agency, on August 19, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
