An earthquake struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea


Tremors of magnitude 5.7 were recorded near the coast of Papua New Guinea by seismologists. This was announced on August 1 by the US Geological Survey (USGS). According to the service, the epicenter of the earthquake, the focus of which lay at a depth of 10 km, was 17 km southeast of Lorengau.
