An earthquake struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea
Tremors of magnitude 5.7 were recorded near the coast of Papua New Guinea by seismologists. This was announced on August 1 by the US Geological Survey (USGS). According to the service, the epicenter of the earthquake, the focus of which lay at a depth of 10 km, was 17 km southeast of Lorengau. There was no information about possible destruction or casualties. According to the news agency, on July 31, near the coast of Papua New Guinea, seismologists recorded tremors of magnitude 5.6.
