CSO: in May, retail trade turnover in Latvia fell by 0.6%
The Central Statistical Office (CSO) of Latvia reported that in May the turnover of retail trade in Latvia, compared to 2019, decreased by 0.6%, writes the portal lsm.lv. At the same time, trade in food products grew by 1.6%, combustible materials by 3.3%, but the turnover in the non-food goods segment decreased by 3.9%. Most of all, sales of exhibition equipment decreased by 34.2%, then clothing, shoes, leather products by 27.8%, and trade turnover in the field of telecommunications fell by 6.3%. In actual prices, the fall in retail trade in Latvia in non-food products amounted to 4.7%. The total trade turnover in May, compared to April, increased by 11.7%, as the restriction on the operation of shopping centers on weekends and holidays was lifted from May 12.
