Use of coronavirus app in Netherlands will be voluntary

The use of a mobile app identifying the threat of coronavirus infection, which is now being developed in the Netherlands, will be strictly voluntary. This was announced by Prime Minister Mark Rutte on 17 April. It is an application that warns the user if he was near a coronavirus infected. Critics point to possible privacy violations when using the app. By 17 April, 750 proposals had been made for the development of the annex. Of these, seven proposals have been selected and will be tested for safety. In addition, it will be checked if they collect more information than they need to complete their task. The results of the inspection will be made public on 20 April.
