Closed or significantly restricted operation of shopping centers in Latvia

On this weekend, March 28 and 29, the order of the Government of Latvia came into force, it was previously reported by the news agency, about the restriction of the work of large shopping centers or their closure during the emergency regime. Restrictions apply to all moths in which the number of trading places 10 or more or their area exceeds 10,000 square meters, writes the portal LSM. Supervision of the implementation of the decision is entrusted to the municipal and state police. These centers can operate grocery stores, pharmacies or veterinary pharmacies, animal feed and optics shops, construction stores, and horticultural goods traders. Catering enterprises are prohibited. If there are no mentioned shops on the territory of the shopping center, the center must be closed completely. From 13 March to 14 April, an emergency regime was introduced in the LR by a Government decision due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Classes in schools, sports sections have been abolished. Mass events are prohibited, which gather more than 50 people. The schedule of public transport and the rules of trade in stores have been changed. The borders of Latvia for passenger transport are closed.
