IMF assessed progress of negotiations with Argentina

The negotiations of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) with the Argentine authorities on the country's debt obligations were assessed as constructive by IMF spokesman Jerry Rice in a briefing on 13 February. Rice said talks were ongoing. He noted that the IMF did not see any violations of the Argentine authorities with regard to the rules of the organization. According to the news agency, on February 6, the draft law on restructuring Argentina's external debt was adopted by the Senate of the State. Currently, its size exceeds $300 billion.
